Abstract

Objective To investigate the difference on mineral elements contents in breast milk and their influences between the urban and rural areas. Methods Applying atomic absorption spectrometer(AAS)on 99 cases(from December 2003 to March 2005)of breast milk from urban and rural areas were carried out, and their contents of zinc, cupper, iron, calcium and magnesium were measured. Results There were no significant element content differences in breast milk between urban and rural areas. Conclusion With the improvement of life quality, there are no differences of mineral elements in breast milk between urban and rural areas.
