Abstract

We propose a multielectrode method for the bulk impedance measurement of botanical tissue. In this method, the circumferences of two vertical circles are assumed in the lengthwise direction of a cylindrical botanical tissue, and more than ten pairs of electrodes are inserted on their circumferences for impedance measurement between the two circles. From this measured impedance, the impedance with an infinite number of electrodes can be estimated. Thus, this method separates the electrode impedance from the botanical tissue impedance. In this study, a pseudo measuring circuit was created from an equivalent circuit simulating the electrical impedance of a cylindrical botanical tissue for experimental measurements to confirm the measuring precision of the multielectrode method. © 2000 Scripta Technica, Electron Comm Jpn Pt 3, 84(2): 1–11, 2001
