Abstract

The fracture toughness, fracture strength and crack opening displacement of notched zirconia oxide and flyash filled epoxy resin composites were measured experimentally using the three point bending test single edge notched (NBT) specimen geometry. The results show that the value of surface fracture energy and fracture toughness increases with increase of crack size and fracture strength can be measured using crack tip opening displacement along the crack line.
