Abstract

When solving scientific, technical, biological and medical problems, in mathematical modeling of the processes of interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter, it is necessary to know the physical parameters of the research object. In science and technology, these are the properties of substances that are being investigated, in medicine and biology - the parameters of muscle and bone tissues, in cosmetology - the physical properties of hair (diameter, density, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, optical parameters). Existing chemical methods make it possible to determine all these parameters, but, as a rule, with a large expenditure of time and resources. Therefore, it is urgent to develop faster physical methods of analysis without the use of chemical reactions. Great opportunities for this have appeared after the development of computer methods for modeling and processing experimental data. The paper deals with computer methods for processing images of natural thin fibers for measuring their diameter, determining optical parameters such as absorption spectrum, refractive index, attenuation index. We used the capabilities of mathematical computer programs to make a colorimetric analysis of color images, separating them into three basic color components: red, green, blue.
