Abstract
Neutralized ion beam techniques have been extended to observe the laser ionization spectrum of the c 3Π u state of D 2. The autoionizing triplet→ nd Rydberg series has been observed. From the break in the continuous ionization signal the ionization energy of the c 3Π u state is found to be 3.675±0.020 eV.
