Abstract
A plasma-based extreme ultraviolet (XUV) laser is experimentally characterized to have a record-short coherence time of ~500 femtoseconds, which paves the way to amplify weak high-harmonic-generation (HHG) radiation sources without losing their ultrashort, femtosecond characteristics.
