Abstract

In order to explore the accuracy and correlation of measuring the thermal conductivity of fabrics by plane source technology and transient method, 21 pure fabrics and blended fabrics with different fiber components were selected in the market, and two different testing methods were studied, induding transient plane method (TPS) and improved transient plane method (MTPS). We measured the thermal conductivity of fabrics by Hot disk and TCI thermal conductivity meter and discussed Pearson correlation between the two plane source testing methods by mathematical analysis, and then compared with the thermal conductivity of fiber materials. The results show that the thermal conductivity of fabric tested by TCI has a small variation range; The difference value of thermal conductivity between Hot disk and TCI is small, and the average difference is 0.0089176, less than 0.01, which shows that the data of the two methods are consistent; At the same time, it is found that the data values of the two methods have obvious correlation (0.812) at the level of 0.01 (double tail), which indicates the reliability of testing the thermal conductivity of fabrics by transient plane source method; Fiber composition has great influence on the thermal conductivity of fabrics. The thermal conductivity of fabrics with the same fiber composition and different blending ratios is not much different, but there are some differences, which vary within a small order of magnitude; Finally, it is found that there are obvious differences between the thermal conductivity of fabric and that of fiber materials due to the influence of fabric structure, static air volume and moisture absorption.
