Abstract

In this work, the thermal conductivity data of Octamethyltrisiloxane (MDM) and Hexamethyldisiloxane (MM) were measured by the transient hot wire method, in the temperature range of 263.15 K to 353.15 K and the pressures ranging from 0.1 MPa to 7.0 MPa, with an uncertainty of 3.5 % for MDM and 3.8 % for MM. Then a comparison between the present data and previously reported thermal conductivities was made, indicating a good agreement. Additionally, a thermal conductivity model based on the modified Enskog theory was used to represent the experimental data. This study provides a necessary basis for the calculation and analysis of the heat transfer of typical linear siloxanes for the organic Rankine cycle.
