Abstract
PVT behaviors of decanoic acid-modified ceria (C10CeO2) nanoparticles was measured with a bellows type apparatus at temperatures from 312.3 K up to 471.7 K and pressures from 10 up to 200 MPa. As a comparison with organic molecules, PVT behaviors of decane was measured at temperatures from 298.5 K up to 472.6 K and pressures from 10 up to 200 MPa. The atmospheric density of samples at each temperature was measured and adopted as a reference density in analyzing the outputs of volume change from the measured data with the bellows type apparatus. The obtained PVT data were correlated by the Tait equation to calculate volumetric properties. The PVT data for the C10CeO2 nanoparticles were also used to determine the parameters of Sanchez-Lacombe equation of state (EoS). These parameters allowed us to apply Sanchez-Lacombe EoS for the C10CeO2 nanoparticle as a pseudomolecule.
