Abstract

An Electromechanical transient process caused by power system failure or changes of operating conditions may lead to shaft torsional vibration of turbo-generator unit. A laser torsional vibrometer was used to measure the torsion vibration of a rotating shaft system under electrical network impact. The laser torsional vibrometer are non-contact measurement of torsional oscillation of rotating shafts, offering significant advantages over conventional techniques. The experiments based on torsional vibration are developed, and the torsional vibration signals are analyzed. The results show that electrical network impacts can excite the natural frequencies of torsional vibration for shafts, and the torsional natural frequencies varied in different electrical interference. The results also verify the measuring instrument for torsional vibration is robust, friendly and can be calibrated in situ.
