Abstract

Activation cross-sections have been measured and deduced for 59 (n,α) reactions in the 14 MeV range. The systematics in the σ n, α data, especially the isotopic dependence could be improved. New estimated data are given for the production of long-lived isotopes and for the total σ n, α values of some elements at (14.7 ± 0.2) MeV. Helium emission cross sections derived from the isotopic data for 26 elements agree well in most cases with the available direct measurements. Spectrum averaged (n,α) cross sections were measured for 9 reactions in Be(d,n) neutron field at E d = 9.72 MeV. Results were compared with the ENDF-B/VI and IRDF 90 data files for testing for the validation of the differential data. The isometric cross section ratio has also been measured and deduced for some (n,α) reactions at 14.7 MeV.
