Abstract
The article is devoted to some ideological features of the popular novel “Text” by D. Glukhovsky. The two most important concepts for the novel, noted in the title, are analyzed: the meaning of revenge and compassion for enemies (mercy). In the novel, we do not find the opposition of two worlds: the real and the virtual. The virtual world is an integral part of the real world and is built according to its rules and laws. In this novel, reality with its meanness and cruelty absolutely dominates.
