Abstract

Welding has a fundamental role in several engineering projects that are part of the industrial field. During the development of this engineering practice, throughout the years, the dependence on the operator’s performance in the execution of the procedure has been a must. In order to respond to the growth of the manufacturing industry, the standardization of the parameters involved such as travel speed, arc length, frequency and amplitude must be sought. The knowledge and influence of these variables should be analyzed from the early stages of the technical and educational process to establish the repercussions on the applications generated. Taking into account the human, technical and social factors of welding technologies and, due to the boom in the automation of various manufacturing processes, this project developed a programmable system for linear electric arc welding applications, taking as a reference the operating principles of existing models and welding parameters. To facilitate the development of the detailed design, computer aided design and engineering tools were used. Finally, as results, an algorithm for the design process is obtained as part of the significant learning and a prototype machine created from the application of this technique.
