Abstract
The pragmatic web is an overwhelming step in the advances of the web-based technology. This paper discusses the meaning negotiation process, which is a key factor in the construction of the pragmatic web. We mainly focus on whether or not the merging of ontology affects the meaning negotiation process. We propose merging a part of ontology of semantic web and individual context ontology for pragmatic web. We then, study at what extent this merging may affect the meaning negotiation process. This is shown through a case study that uses ontology to capture the semantic of context knowledge on communication and meaning negotiation processes. Furthermore, experiments demonstrate the relevance of the proposed method.
