Abstract
The authors present new simple formulas for the mean time-to-failure of a liner consecutive-k-out-of-n:F system. The assumptions are: the components and the system either fail or operate; all component lifetimes are s-independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.); and the system fails if and only if at least k consecutive components fail. The special classes of Weibull and exponential life distribution are studied. >
