Abstract

The thermally bistable behavior of spin-crossover solids opens up prospects for their widespread use as information technology materials, sensors, or micro-refrigerators. In this paper, we build upon a mean-field model of spin-crossover transition in elastic Morse lattice. The phase transition caused by the short-range elastic intermolecular interaction is discussed using an Ising-like fictitious-spin formulation and mean-field theory.
