Abstract
We report polarization propagator calculations of the excitation spectrum, moments of the dipole oscillator strength distribution (S(μ), − 3 ≤μ ≤ 1) and mean excitation energies Iμ for the closed-shell ions of aluminum. The calculated values of I0 agree well with the generalized oscillator strength calculations of McGuire et al. [Phys. Rev. A26 (1982) 1318].
