Abstract

In recent years, as result of both global warming and commercial transportation of plant materials insect pest species began to spread quickly to the similar ecology all over the world. Among this insect groups, mealybugs are very small individuals and they are found in hidden places on the plant material such as cleft, clark, under the bark, they could overlooked by the quarantine inspectors. Therefore, family Pseudococcidae (Hemiptera) includes most important invasive pest species in all over the world. This study was aimed to determine Pseudococcidae species in park and recreation areas in Mersin province between the years 2012-2015. A total of 108 specimens were collected and examined. As a result, four species belonging to two genera were determined that follows; Planococcus citri (Risso), Planococcus ficus (Signoret), Planococcus vovae (Nasonov) and Phenacoccus madeirensis Green.
