Abstract

Aortic root pseudoaneurysm is a rare but potentially lethal complication after cardiac surgery. The objective of this article is to review the CT appearance of postoperative aortic root pseudoaneurysms, with emphasis on imaging pearls and pitfalls. The most common location for postoperative aortic root pseudoaneurysm is the graft anastomosis site. MDCT with ECG gating and multiplanar and 3D reconstruction can provide critical information for preoperative planning.
