Abstract

The MDA approach proposed by the OMG is essentially based on the systematic use of models in all phases of the IT application lifecycle, from analysis and design to automatic code generation of the application. This to give a better productivity and greater durability of developments. In the MDA approach, the business logic of an application is modeled independently of any running platform. Then, a model transformation mechanism allows the automatic production of models and code specific to each platform (J2EE, EJB …). After a detailed description of the standards on which MDA is based, such as MOF, OCL, QVT and XMI, our effort will be focused on developing a Meta model for EJB components and on the definition of transformation rules allowing automatic conversion from UML models to EJB component models.
