Abstract

Abstract A novel MCM-41-supported mercapto platinum complex was conveniently synthesized from commercially available and cheap γ-mercaptopropyltriethoxysilane via immobilization on MCM-41, followed by reacting with potassium chloroplatinite. The powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were employed to characterize the title platinum complex. It was found that the title complex is an efficient catalyst for hydrosilylation of olefins with triethoxysilane and can be reused several times without noticeable loss of activity.
