Abstract

AbstractThe annual meeting of the Midwestern College Art Conference was held at the University of Wisconsin on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 8, 9, and 10, under the combined auspices of the departments of Art and Art Education and of Art History. Planning and program were handled by James Watrous, Vice President, Alfred Sessler, Secretary, and Donald Anderson, Treasurer, with the guidance of Robert Iglehart, Michigan University, President (who was unable, because of illness, to attend). The section meetings were held in the Wisconsin Center, a pleasant modern building on the shore of Lake Mendota. (In spite of overgrown population, traffic and parking difficulties, Wisconsin has perhaps the handsomest site of any big ten campus—hilly, wooded with tall trees, a veritable museum of architecture in its stately, though sometimes stuffy buildings, and magnificent views of the lake, which sparkled in the crisp autumn air, although last winter with three feet of ice and the sweep of northerly gales it was like Siberia.)
