Abstract
This study investigated the costume expression of the main characters in the drama The World of the Married, drawing on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality type theory, Keirsey’s and Bates’s four trait theories (1998), and Greek mythology archetypes. We conducted a drama viewer survey to estimate each character’s personality and collected online viewer analysis data. We found that Seonwoo was ISTJ (Epimetheus), Teo was ENFP (Apollon), and Dakyeog was ISTP (Dionysus). Our results concerning the clothes of the main characters in the drama coincided with those of previous studies investigating the relationship between MBTI personality type, Keirsey’s four trait types, and clothing behavior. Additionally, each character’s costume expression changed when the Greek mythology prototype changed. We also found that even when the mythical archetype did not change, costume expression could still change depending on the character’s situation.
