Abstract

We read with great interest the recent article “May–Thurner Syndrome in Operative Ankle Fracture Dislocations: A Case Report” regarding a rare case of May–Thurner syndrome (MTS) following ankle fracture−dislocation (1). We congratulate the authors for their finding in such a rare and complicated case. Furthermore, we wish to include our case of MTS following left lower extremity open fracture to emphasize that such situations of isolated left lower extremity edema following lower extremity operation can occur, even without a previous history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and MTS.
