Abstract
<P>How’s this for timing? Just as the nation has been plunged in to an economic meltdown, largely as a result of the unbridled greed of our financial “masters of the universe” and many masters “wannabes,” I am pleased to present you with an interesting series of articles on Narcissism and Narcissistic Personality Disorder, expertly guest edited by Otto F. Kernberg, MD. We don’t get the opportunity to bring you this kind of series so often, and I hope you’ll enjoy and appreciate it. You will have a chance to revisit (depending on how long ago you were in training, and if you are willing to put in the effort) the psychoanalytic history of the origins of the concept of narcissism in psychiatry.</P>
