Abstract

Classical Maxwell's formula in the case of a single relaxation time is extended so as to be applicable to three-dimensional and large deformation. It is also shown that for small deformations the derived formula is reduced to Alfrey's formula which is valid for three-dimensional and small deformation. Application to simple elongation is shown to be satisfactory.
