Abstract

We derive methods for asymptotic maximum likelihood (ML) estimation of Jakes' Doppler power spectrum parameters from noisy estimates of the complex fading envelope under the correlated single-input multi-output (SIMO) fading scenario. The Whittle approximation to the likelihood function is utilized to estimate the Doppler spread, noise variance, and spatial channel correlation parameters. We also compute the asymptotic Cramer-Rao bounds (CRBs) for the unknown parameters. Numerical simulations demonstrate the performance of the proposed methods.
