Abstract

Abstract—It is established that optimizing extremal control of benzene distillation is expedient so as to maximize its extraction from absorbing oil. An effective method is described for finding the maximum possible benzene extraction, with appropriate regulation of the steam supply to the distillation column so as to permit dynamic temperature control. Simulation of the search process verifies the applicability of such control in digital systems. This approach does not impose excessive implementation costs, maximizes benzene extraction, and significantly limits the staff’s role in the control of distillation.
