Abstract

A design method of a THz metasurface with a maximum beam-scanning angle in a given bandwidth is proposed. The metasurface with a sequence of the dual-mode C-shaped resonator is designed, fabricated and tested. A 40° beam-scanning angle with a maximum deflection coefficient of 76% in 0.3–0.5 THz band is obtained in both simulation and experiment. Our results provide new degrees of freedom for integration into planar beam-scanning and augments the frequency scanning angle of a limited spectrum of resources.
