Abstract

We study a maximization problem on the Trudinger-Moser inequality and clarify the effect of lower order perturbation on the attainability of the best constant. In particular, we show the explicit forms of threshold nonlinearity involving lower order perturbation. Our results are based on the estimates of the Dirichlet energy of maximizers.
