Abstract
Twenty-five identical maxillary casts were submitted to commercial dental laboratories for the construction of an extracoronal partial denture framework. Variations occurred in designs to a remarkable degree. Some designs were satisfactory, others were not. Not all of the laboratories used a surveyor. Almost identical findings were reported eight years ago by McCracken in his survey of designs for mandibular removable partial dentures.
