Abstract

Introduction: Gold standard for alveolar cleft bone grafting is autogenous bone. Advantage of adding the growth factors to the bone is established, so adding PRF to the autogenous bone may have beneficial effects. Methods: Platelet-rich plasma admixed with autogenous bone and as a biologic membrane over the bone grafted alveolar cleft was used. Results: Autogenous bone in all (four cases) was mandibular symphysis the mean age of the patients was 14.2 ± 1.5years. Lateral sliding flap was used for coverage of the mixture in all four cases. Conclusion: Platelet-rich plasma admixed with autogenous bone or as a biologic membrane may have beneficial effect in maxillary alveolar cleft bone grafting. Keywords: Alveolar bone grafting, Autogenous bone, Platelet-rich plasma (PRF).
