Abstract

Mature watermelon vine decline (MWVD), a disease of unknown etiology, has occurred sporadically in southwestern Indiana since the mid 1980s. In 2000 the disease was especially severe, affecting more than 50% of the area planted to watermelon and resulting in yield losses of 20%. Accepted for publication 20 December 2000.
