Abstract

Background: Mature cystic teratoma occurs most commonly in the ovary and is one of the most common benign ovarian tumors. However, teratoma arises from extra-ovarian site, such as teratoma in Douglas’ pouch is extremely rare, and the exact etiology of extragonadal teratoma is not known.
