Abstract
When Matthew Fowler (consultant nurse for Oncology and Haematology, Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham, UK) first started in haematology, he immediately saw the impact that nurses had on patients and the team. “When I first came into haematology nursing in the late 1990s, I was amazed at how experienced haematology nurses made such a difference to the patient pathway and the collaborative working relationships with the multi-disciplinary team.”
