Abstract

By using generalized Burau matrices with entries in the ring of the braid group we iteratively produce new braid representations out of any given one. Similarly, by using a braid-ring valued “almost” Yang-Baxter matrix we are able to derive new Yang-Baxter solutions. As an application from diagonal R-matrices we generate the Uq(g) R-matrices.
