Abstract
El presente artículo es una reflexión sobre las contradicciones del desarrollo en el Perú. Para el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), Perú se encontraría actualmente en el grupo de países con alto desarrollo humano. No obstante, esta bonanza no parece redistribuirse con equidad. El crecimiento económico en cifras no ha implicado necesariamente el cierre de brechas sociales, políticas económicas y ambientales. Y es que ya no es suficiente tener cifras que detallen cuantos menos pobres existen en el país, es necesario además garantizar políticas públicas y acuerdos institucionales que brinden mejores oportunidades, y una sociedad, menos violenta, más equitativa y justa.
