Abstract

PROF. GODEAUX'S addition to this excellent series of popular monographs, will be found of interest to the general reader and to the specialist. The former will be made familiar with the fundamental concepts of the, various types of geometry; and both will learn much about their historical and methodo logical background. The six chapters of this work deal respectively with elementary geometry, analytical geometry, protective geometry, the principles of geo metry, the theory of groups and topology. The mathematical notation used is quite simple, and the book makes easy reading owing to the explanations covering all the difficult intuitions of the geometri cians.
