Abstract
You have heard and read so much about the urgent need for more scientists, engineers, and mathematicians in our country that I do not need to add to the discussion of the present and future shortage. I am sure all of you want to help in educating more young people for these professions by increasing the interest of your students in mathematics. What you need most is not more statistics but material that you can use in explaining just how mathematics is used in industry and why it is becoming more important with every passing year. Such material I want to present to you here.
