This paper uses the Oaxaca (1973) approach in order to decompose the gender test score gaps in mathematics in Kenya at the primary school level, contributing to the existing literature which currently does not show whether the gap is as a result of differences in resource endowments between boys and girls or whether it results from differences in utilization of the resources
