Abstract

Abstract Proclus's mathematizing approach to physics is discussed in relation to his adaptation of Aristotle's Physics and his interpretation of the physics of Plato's Timaeus, in which physics is geometricized in its method, and its claim to scientific status circumscribed. The transposition of mathematical truths to physics is also discussed.
