Abstract

A steady-state mathematical model was developed for vapor condensation heat transfer process with high fractional noncondensable gas by taking into account the heat and mass balances on both sides of the condensing column. Meanwhile, the condensation mass transfer coefficient at the condensing side was correlated along the height of the condensing column based on the large amount of experimental data. The correlations represented the experimental data very well, which showed that the model is reasonable. Mathematical simulation results present various column height profiles including temperature of mixed gas and condensing heat transfer coefficient, noncondensable mass fraction and condensate mass flow rate
