Abstract

The article presents a mathematical model for the investigate of modes and characteristics of asynchronous motors (AM), which are located at a distance from the voltage source and powered through the cable line. The purpose of the article is to investigate the maximum allowable values of resistance of supply lines, at which AM can be started in the given operating conditions. The choice of capacitors included parallel to the motor, which are necessary to reduce the starting current to provide the maximum possible starting electromagnetic moment, is also considered. The calculation is based on the AM mathematical model, which takes into account the saturation of the magnetic core and the displacement of current in the bars of squirrel-cage rotor.
