Abstract

Coaxial cavity gyrotrons are the most perspective sources of millimeter wave radiation which are developed and used for electron-cyclotron plasma heating in thermonuclear facilities. Rigorous mathematical methods to study gyrotrons with rectangular and smooth longitudinal corrugations are proposed for TE waves. Comparison of the numerical results obtained on the basis of the given methods is presented. It was found that form of the corrugation mainly influences on the eigenvalue dependence upon the coaxial parameter. Obtained numerical results can be used to project and develop effective gyrotron resonators.
