Abstract

Soil hydraulic properties describe the water and the chemical transport processes in the soil. Many mathematical models have been extensively used to describe these processes (Gardner (1958), van Genuchten (1980), Wang et al. (2004)). In this note we analyze soil hydraulic properties using different mathematical models. Based on measurements and using fitting technique we determine the expressions of the hydraulic conductivity and water diffusivity suitable for our data. The soil water diffusivity is important in order to obtain the analytical solution of the Richard equation which shows the soil water content distribution in space. Also we determine the soil water content from the Richard equation in diffusivity form for the constant coefficients.
