Abstract

The current industrial circumstance pushes the limit of conventional manufacturing as the requirement is getting more intricate both aesthetic and performance wise. The challenge is meeting the requirement while manufacturing, as the product have delicate and complex profile. This paper presents an iterative mathematical model (recursive residue reduction model) to control material removal considering the residue on a low rigidity component with varying cross section (major thickness 0.35 mm). The process plan also includes adequate fixturing to clamp and set up for intermediate probing. The outcomes demonstrate that differing cutting parameters ought to be chosen at each machining level to fulfil the manufacturing productivity and accuracy during low rigidity component turning.
