Abstract

The results of mathematical modeling of the unsteady water motion in the Tom River over the section between the town of Tomsk and the river mouth, when it is under pressure head of the Ob River flood waves, are presented. The research is performed based on the analysis of field materials, numerical computation results of field and hypothetical hydrological regimes simulating the process of interaction of long waves of the Ob and Tom rivers in the region of their confluence. Mathematical modeling is performed with the help of mathematical models of the river channel “Tom” and “Confluence” in order to reveal a possible formation on the Tom River of a counterflow under extreme conditions connected with the joint impact of anthropogenic and natural factors.
