Abstract

Abstract Transient isotope tracing is a useful technique for the study of heterogeneous catalysis but the modelling of experiments is often complicated, especially if plug-flow reactors are employed. Interpretation of data can be greatly facilitated by the use of appropriate mathematical models. In this paper details are given for both numerical and analytical solutions for the purpose of obtaining the fundamental parameters from the observed data.
