Abstract
Steel casting temperature is an important factor that influences the quality of the steel, for it depends the other two technological parameters the casting speed and casting time and, by default, the primary and the secondary cooling parameters. There are cases that require temperature control: the temperature reduction (if the steel temperature is too high) or by keeping them (if steel is cold). The paper presents some mathematical and technological aspects in relation to control temperature of steel in tundish of continuous casting machine. Experiments have been made both in laboratory and in the stage of industrial phase. During the experiments were monitored both the appearance (surfaces) and the temperature of the metal bath. It was concluded that the best option for obtaining micro-coolers is by cutting the carbon steel wire at predetermined size.
