Abstract

Abstract summary The aim of this study was to characterize the delivery of diclofenac sodium from hydrophilic, swellable polyethylene oxide matrix tablets. Matrix tablets can be manufactured relatively simple, e.g. by direct compression. Mathematical modeling has been employed to describe the process of drug diffusion from the polyethylene matrix coupled to the process of polymer dissolution.
